Ireland: Spring Break Field Study
RFLA 300: Ireland - Communication, Culture, and Conflict
Gain a new perspective on communication differences across global communities while exploring the history of religious discrimination in Northern Ireland and its current impact on the region. You’ll visit museums and monuments throughout the country to explore Irish protest art and music, and you’ll also examine the efforts of the country to become more environmentally conscious through the use of renewable energy as you bike through Belfast and visit a sustainable and regenerative farm in the Ballymoney area.

- Prerequisites: Required rFLA prereqs will apply
- Course Requirements: Self-reflection exercises, case study, presentation, pre- and post-program learning assessments.
- Anticipated Number of Students: 14
- Estimated Program Fee: $2,770
- Program Fee Includes: Tuition, housing, some meals (breakfast daily, most dinners), on-site activities, program administration, and emergency insurance.
- Visa: US citizens will need an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA)
- Special Notifications: Students should be prepared for daily walking and uneven ground or pavement (and some more strenuous hiking), some of which require the use of stairs. Students should be prepared to complete a three-hour bike tour, including intermittent stops. Students with sensitivity to seasickness or motion sickness should be prepared. Students may have contact with horses and other farm animals, including sheep. Please contact International Programs for more information.
