Café, Cultura and Aventura: Spring Break Journey to Colombia’s Coffee Region. Journey through the Andes of Colombia’s coffee region, where you’ll walk among coffee plants, meet local farmers, and discover the secrets behind the world’s best coffee. Witness the entire coffee-making process—from harvesting coffee beans to roasting and tasting freshly brewed coffee, the Colombian way. Gain insight into sustainable farming, fair trade, and Colombia’s rich coffee heritage. Engage with local communities, practice your Spanish, and experience the warmth of Colombian hospitality. Explore charming towns, savor authentic cuisine, and dive into the region’s vibrant traditions.

- Program Location: Coffee Region of Colombia (Armenia, Pereira, Quimbaya, Salento, Calarcá, Circasia)
- Tentative Program Dates: Spring Break, 2026
- Credit: 2 Credit/No Credit
- Prerequisites: None
- Course Requirements: Cultural immersion journal, photo video documentary, participation in all scheduled activities, group collaboration of final presentation of key learnings, participation in a post-trip fair, and post-program assessment.
- Anticipated Number of Students: 12-15
- Estimated Program Fee: $3,650
- Program Fee Includes: Tuition, housing, welcome and farewell dinner and 1 daily meal, program administration, on-site activities, on-site transportation, and emergency insurance.
- Visa: Not required for U.S. citizens
- Special Notifications: The program will involve significant walking in areas with uneven ground. Participants will also engage in strenuous activities and use public transit, some of which will require the use of stairs. There will be travel on buses. Air conditioning will not be offered in all areas. Please contact International Programs for more information.
