Why Study Abroad in Czech Republic?
Anglo-American University (AAU) is the first private, English-language university in the Czech Republic. The modern campus is situated in the newly restored Thurn-Taxis Palace near Prague Castle serving as a beautiful backdrop for your time abroad. AAU blends Central European tradition with American and British academic values, offering an international learning environment in one of Europe’s most picturesque cities.

Courses
- Most courses are 3 credits each and students will typically take 4-5 courses, for a total of 12-15 semester credits.
- Large selection of courses across many majors, such as, Business, Communications, Art, History, and more.
- Students take a 1-credit micro-credential course and one cultural or language course related to location (Czechia or Central-Eastern Europe).
Additional Information
- Courses appear on the Rollins transcript as transfer credit; the grades are displayed and are factored into the Rollins GPA.
- It can take up to three months for grades to be processed.
- Students can take major and minor courses abroad (with approval from the academic department) and can also take competencies and rFLA200-level seminars abroad (with approval from the Registrar).
Housing and Meals
- Students live in apartments provided by WorldStrides, located near the AAU campus. Apartments are removed from tourist areas to promote a more local experience.
- Apartments are fully furnished, and bedrooms are typically double occupancy with a shared living area, kitchen and bathroom.
- There is no meal plan. Students can cook for themselves in their apartments. Cheap Eats Out and Easy Make-it-Yourself Meal.
Excursions and Activities
- WorldStrides provides two-day trips in Czechia and 2 overnight trips (Vienna and Berlin). Each excursion includes a cultural activity and a guided tour.
- Activities include the Prague Zoo, Prague Castle, Old Town tour, Jewish quarter tour, visit to the oldest brewery in Prague, Museum of Communism, Town Hall, and tour of the catacombs, social activities, etc.
- A variety of student-led clubs are available for visiting students. Some examples are hiking club, café social club, skiing club, Latino club, and many more.

Program Fee
Rollins Approved Semester Programs are priced the same as standard Rollins CLA tuition, standard on-campus housing for a double room, and on-campus meal plan (if meals are included). Select a specific term to see full cost details.

Scholarships
Scholarships based on financial need are available to off-set costs associated with international airfare and other costs associated with study abroad. Students can apply for scholarships through the Rollins program application.

Living and Working
Having a credit card while abroad is very helpful. The Czech Republic has a low cost of living compared to the United States.
