Professor of Social Entrepreneurship
Dr. Warnecke is an economist specializing in international development processes/policy, and social entrepreneurship. Dr. Warnecke’s international experience informs her teaching; she studied in Hungary and Spain, worked in Montreal, and has traveled to more than 25 countries on 5 continents. Dr. Warnecke also has significant leadership, program development, and management experience; she co-founded the Social Entrepreneurship academic major and minor in 2013 and also led the process to establish the Department of Social Entrepreneurship at Rollins. Dr. Warnecke enjoys working with students to put social entrepreneurship into practice. She is also part of the strategic planning group for the Social Impact Hub at Rollins.

Research
Dr. Warnecke's research is interdisciplinary and policy-oriented, focusing on entrepreneurship, gender, and development issues such as finance, technology, and sustainability. Dr. Warnecke researches most world regions but specializes in Asia, and has published more than 40 research outputs. Previously, she was the Fulbright Visiting Research Chair in International Development Studies at McGill University. In addition to publishing widely in international journals, Dr. Warnecke has been awarded many research honors/grants, has collaborated with the United Nations Research Institute on Social Development, and is a member of the International Labour Organization's Regulating for Decent Work research network.
