3 Tars Recognized Among Orlando’s 40 Under 40
For their professional and philanthropic contributions, three Rollins alumni have been named to Orlando Business Journal’s 2023 honor roll of top leaders under 40.

The Orlando Business Journal’s annual 40 Under 40 recognition has become a who’s who of Central Florida’s most vibrant young leaders. Each year, the publication recognizes individuals whose successes are defined by their business acumen and community leadership. This year’s honorees include a real estate CEO, a powerhouse immigration attorney, and a communications strategist driven by social justice.
Award winners were nominated by their peers. To be eligible, nominees must be under 40, occupy a leadership position, engage in some form of giving back, and work in Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Lake, Volusia, or Brevard counties.
Here’s a look at how the Rollins grads honored this year are living out the mission of the College as global citizens and responsible leaders through their work and service.
Amy Calandrino ’07
CEO, Beyond Commercial
Amy Calandrino majored in English at Rollins’ Hamilton Holt School and is now CEO of Beyond Commercial, one of the largest woman-owned commercial real estate companies in Central Florida. A fierce, results-driven dealmaker, Calandrino leads a team of commercial real estate experts in serving business owners and investors across all asset classes in a range of industries. She also actively looks for ways to share her experience and expertise with other entrepreneurs. Calandrino recently launched her own podcast, The Performance Mindset, where she interviews successful business leaders, sharing trends and trade secrets with her listeners.
“Within the walls of Orlando Hall and Sullivan House at Rollins, I found my voice while pursuing an English degree and writing minor,” she says. “The close-knit environment provided more than just knowledge—it nurtured confidence, allowing me to blossom into the person I am today. Rollins helped me fearlessly pursue my dreams and gave me the courage to embrace every opportunity that comes my way.”
Izi Pinho ’12
CEO & Attorney, Pinho Law Firm
The award-winning Pinho Law Firm’s powerful value statement reflects the heart and passion of its founder: “We help immigrants achieve their American dream.” An economics major at Rollins, Izi Pinho went on to earn her JD from Stetson University before founding her own law practice, an international firm focused on immigration law. Just this past year, Pinho’s business has doubled as she continues to make a difference in the Central Florida community.
“While completing my undergraduate studies at Rollins, I got involved in various organizations like the Kappa chapter of Omicron Delta Epsilon, Phi Theta Kappa, and the Center for Leadership & Community Engagement—these experiences really helped me see the impact I could make in my community.”
Wendy Roundtree ’16MBA
Founder & Lead Strategist, Jarel Communications
Wendy Roundtree is a communications guru with a passion for stories that inspire action. She founded Jarel Communications as a social impact firm that specializes in strategic communication, public relations, and content development, partnering with socially innovative organizations across a variety of fields from health care to real estate. Prior to starting her firm, Roundtree worked in communications, PR, and marketing roles for Orange County Public Schools, Costa Communications, and Habitat for Humanity. She also volunteers with the Adult Literacy League of Central Florida, serves on the board of the Joe R. Lee Boys & Girls Club in Eatonville, Florida, and is a former president of the Orlando Regional Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
“Rollins continues to have a profound impact on both my professional and personal journey,” says Roundtree. “I’m proud to embody the values instilled by the College—a commitment to intellectual curiosity, a dedication to social responsibility, and a belief in the power of education to create positive change.”
