Leigh DeLorenzi PhD
Associate Professor of Counseling
Dr. DeLorenzi has a clinical specialty in the treatment of trauma, and has spent her career counseling children, adults, families, couples, and groups. As an associate professor of counseling and a dually licensed mental health counselor and marriage and family therapist, she offers counseling support to professional helpers (i.e., counselors, physicians, nurses, or any kind of professional caregiver) trying to navigate the stressors of life while balancing the unique professional demands of caring for others. Her current research focuses on trauma-informed gatekeeping practices and supervision practices that assist counselors with imposter syndrome.

Her current research seeks to examine the impact of well-being initiatives within the medical and mental health training environments. Dr. DeLorenzi's scholarship also focuses on standards of professional conduct and gatekeeping practices across the mental health professions.
