The new program, which is housed in the Hume House Child Development & Student Research Center on campus, provides childcare for children ages 5 to 11 (Kindergarten – 5th grade) while their parents attend evening classes on campus.
Rollins Evening EduCare: Supporting Your Academic Journey
Through a generous donation from The Warren and Augusta Hume Foundation, the Rollins Evening EduCare program will be available at no cost to eligible students beginning in Fall 2025. The EduCare program provides enriching activities for elementary school children, including math and science exploration, arts and crafts, music, and physical activity—all carefully designed to align with best practices in afterschool programming for school-age children. Mirroring Rollins College's commitment to personalized education, our EduCare program maintains a 1:6 staff-to-child ratio, ensuring each child receives individualized attention and support. Our program serves students enrolled in Rollins' Professional Advancement and Graduate Studies programs, aiming to remove barriers for adult learners by providing reliable, high-quality childcare that enables more parents to pursue their bachelor's or master's degrees.
